Tony Palmer (TV Commentator) getting it wrong with Rob Kennard's Cortina describing it as a 'Cortina Chev'. Blasphemy!, the Cortina as a race car never was powered by other than than a Ford. At the time of this video I recall it as being a 346 cu in based on a 302 SVO block with a stroker 3.4" crank and Gurney Weslake heads. Previously Rob had run a Gurney Weslake headed 366 cu in Cleveland, but the SVO block engine was lighter and more reliable.

Its great isn't it! Be interesting to know where some of those cars ended up. A few are MIA.

Steve Ross has the Cortina.
Almost all cars can be found or traced by looking on the appropriate Roaring Season threads
