This car is owned by Christophe Schwartz, in France. Chrysler has a strong motorsport heritage in France, with several Plymouth Cudas having raced there in period, including one of the former All American Racers factory Cudas from the 1970 Trans-Am series, which was purchased and raced by Chrysler-France. Christophe also owns a replica of a Dodge Charger stock car that entered Le Mans in the 1970s, which he runs at the Le Mans Classic every two years.
The Cuda has been built to FIA Appendix K Group 2 regulations, meaning it is 100% period correct, as these are the requirements for Appendix K. The AAR Cuda that went to France at the end of 1970 was later fitted with a big block Hemi motor, and raced this way both in the French and European Touring Car Championships, hence Christophe has built his car to the same guise.
The big Hemi has 575hp, and backed by a Borg Warner T10. I believe it has a Ford 9" rear. The price is 98,000 Euros, which is approx NZ$157,000. Certainly, you couldn't build the car for that price. It has raced at several legendary European race tracks, including Spa.
Anyway, maybe a cool car for someone to buy for Historic Muscle Cars? I'm not sure if the rollcage would need to be changed, but maybe not, its built to FIA standards.
