This is well worth a look..
Doug Chivas / Margaret Halliday battle it out with Geoff Taylor/ Barry Frazer. Both using Yamaha TZ750

Thats what you call all out balls racing,now this saturday at palmy they are running sidecars and on sunday will allso be running at oceanview speedway, the last time my boy was there some dick put him into the wall so lets have a safe night of racing out there Boys and girls ,so if you want to see some good racing get a long this saturday and sunday.

Wow, that is insane! Note when they're dropping down through The Dipper (or is it The Esses?), there is a wire fence with posts driven into the ground. Its hard to tell, but it looks like the wire might have been removed from the fence. Maybe this was a 'safety' consideration! Either way, hitting one of those posts on one of those sidecars would have been disastrous. Amazing footage Bry.

Having been to Bathurst several times, what these guys do is nothing short of amazing. Best track in the world brings out the best (and sometimes the worst in drivers). At the end of the day it is just a public road. Thanks for posting.

Great stuff, thanks Bry. Thirty years on, Chivas is still racing that 750 Yamaha, and still winning. He's the reigning Forgotten Era Australian sidecar champ, and had three wins at the Phillip Island Classic in January. Still quick, and still feisty.
