Andrew, thank you for the comments about the Kenny book.

Sadly the trailer came sans a Lotus 23 - real or otherwise.

On that subject, there is a replica 23 on Trade Me at the moment, a Christchurch based car that I perved over at Skope a few weeks ago.

I'm confident in saying that's HRC's Chris Watson in the second TR (which, I think, ultimately suffered a roll at Whenuapai).

This is the exact same camera that Dad used to take all the photos, a Braun Paxette Electromatic. It even had the same brown leather and plastic case, and he had the hand book too. My Dad's Dad bought the camera new, and then my Dad inherited it from his Dad. Unfortunately my parents gave it away when they got a newer camera, as no one wanted to buy it.

This photo is from an eBay ad in the UK - 20Pounds will buy it.

Another one from the meeting at Pukekohe on the 9th of October 1988. Car / driver details unknown.

I think this one is from the early to mid '80's, at a meeting run on the club circuit. Did this car / driver used to come from Whangarei to race?

The Corvette belonged to Ian Knight from Whangarei. Must be a mid 80s photo before Ian modified the car.

Torana would be Allan Fergusons, ran as a Sports Sedan.
Glen Ellingham owned for a while.
Now owned by P Crosbie from Timaru.

Andrew- it was very interesting to get these details.
I was asked if a certain Escort in SI had enough history to make it into the ranks.
Ended up talking to the current Torana owner who gave me the history of the Escort- a club car.
He recognised my name from here and told me about this Torana...Wellington Street race history etc, and of course he got it off Glenn.

Ian is a member on TRS Andrew but he owned the Corvette for many years and was for sale last year from memory.
He had moved to Aussie and took the Corvette with him.

Ian was/is a neat guy, been along time since I chatted with him always neat to meet up with at meetings back ole days. As Spgeti says he travelled from Whangarei to race and did most club meetings and some national. He had the Corvette for ages and it went pretty good. it was alway a tidy car. Ian had a fling with a V8 Escort for awhile as well i think, it was red.

Half the fun of all these old cars is tracking down people and finding out the history, of both the car and the driver :)

I went to WBHS and Ian and his brother Eric went there as well. Ian purchased good friend Barry Bigalow's 28 Flattie powered Roadster and then my to be ex bother in law Kenny West's Corvette powered Mk2 Zephyr.
He did a bit of drag racing in the Zephyr and a Husky van.
Yes he raced the V8 Escort Rod but I had moved away by then.

His dad raced a Standard 10 in the 50/60s from memory.
