It is almost 3 months since I went to this Laguna Seca event for ONE day and I am still putting in photos, please excuse my lack of speed!
One group that was not racing that day on a special course on the infield parking area was the Cycle Kart group.
They had quite an entry list.
Michael Stevenson and family built the first of the modern day Cycle Kart era with his # 1 Delage Cycle Kart. ( The side exhaust pipes are actually body strengthening tubes as the cycle engine is in the rear.)
Also Zach Smith's 1948 Talbot Lago T26C # 17

could not stay for the 1960s Minis versus Mustangs Mini Enduro Challenge Race held during the twilight period with driver changes at about 1/2 way of the 25 lap event. This type of race is not uncommon at European Vintage races but this was the first time for a race like this in the USA.
25 Minis and 6 1966 Mustangs and a 1963 Falcon headed out into the evening.
Including a 1967 Mini Marcos GT Mark 3 # 7 driven by Bill Lyon.

Guest driver, Englishman, Nick Swift showed he is quick on either side of the Atlantic.

Ken H,
to be pedantic [ now that is a long word for an Old Guy ]
" Including a 1967 Mini Markos GT Mark 3 # 7 driven by Bill Lyon. "
Marcos - built [ designed ] by Gem
Marsh and Frank ?
Costin, who made bigger cars too !!.
They were stylish, but, being a loyal Kiwi, think the De Joux was better.

The Mini beside it is the Genuine " Bathurst Clubman " of Donn White - he bought it new in 1973, competed in it and later sold it buying it back in the 1990's and fully restoring it.
Donn is a Tauranga Guy and a photographer of some note in Motorsport.

Speaking of Minis, during the lull in the TRS action I have been able to get out in my '62 Austin Mini Cooper around Los Olivos. Ca. It just turned 60 years old in February so I took it out to mix with the "big Boys".
(I wonder how John and Charles Cooper would have felt about seeing their name on a modern day station wagon ?)
Still looks good after all those years of TLC !

(It is nice to be back. Thanks Steve. Ken H)
