This is a great photo of Heather and Adrian Rhodens beautiful BJ8 Healey 3000 which I had a bit to do with the
reassembly of in the late 80's. It was delivered to me straight from the paintshop and I put it back together, got it running and Heather drove it to the upholstery shop to be completed. I believe it won our club concours the next time it was held.

" I believe it won our club concours the next time it was held." think that is correct and when they sold it, it raised the price for Healeys in NZ, went for around $85,000 back 89 - 90 from memory. that was big money at the time

All English or in two cases Anglo - American = British Chassis / Body + American V8.

A group of spectator cars on the ridge - the local farmers were very generous with where we could park and Reg Whittaker even installed a couple of long drops - how convenient.

if it was Bills, 4 years ago I carpeted and trimmed the interior.
Car was sitting on Minilites.
I heard that it went to Australia.
He told me he owned it, sold it , then eventually bought it back.
At that time there were apparently only 2 in NZ- other one in East Tamaki.
A Northern Muscle Car racer brought 3 in-one races, the other 2 -parts.
Bills was one grunty machine

Just scanned some from the 1989 event. Posted 1 or 2 on my mix of pics thread. I think the white MGK3 special might be Brian Haywood. Definitely Mike Westall's brown Jaguar. Sadly, still dealing with cylinder head issues, so has withdrawn from the Porsche Festival.

Post 69, not a Morgan, suspect a one off. The white car is one of a few built by MG club owners with BMC B series mechanicals and a mould taken off the Ransley Riley. Grant Kern runs one in your series Ray.

Colin Lewis from matakana had or still has one the same as the white M.G. type, used to compete with the S.C.C.N.Z then moved to S.I. some years ago. May still have it.

100S at Australian Rally Ballarat 1985

Here's something to make you envious Roger.
In 1985 a group of us went to Melbourne and then travelled up to Ballarat for the A-H Rally.
On the day of departure Steve Pike threw me the keys to this 100S (belonging to Jim McConville) and said
you're driving this!
I thought he was taking the piss, but he was deadly serious. Even then, this was an extremely valuable car
so I was very careful at all times. I remember it had very tall gearing and took a while to get off the mark.
It also had that awful 3 speed gearbox and overdrive that I have always felt a bit clumsy, but it was amazing
to get the opportunity to drive one for such a distance and over the whole event. Absolutely lovely car and very original at the time. I believe since then it has been repainted in the original blue and white colours.
