Yes the Alfa is Ian Algie, in a very early guise of this car. I think it was painted cream with fluro orange flares.
The Torana is Brian Friend, ex-Roy Harrington.
3.3L Holden. The footage elsewhere from Baypark 76, it expires in a cloud of smoke early in race 1.

Steve drove it way after this. It was owned by John Scott from speedway saloon fame. (good bugger)
It had stroked 383 to keep in 4.5 class when John had it.

I guess the Consul is the same Phil Rudd raced for a while, was stored in a hanger at Tauranga airport last time I saw it.

would he be the smaller one, both top blokes
he also built a Viva little bit like Ralphs and it was black and lime green as was his hair with the safety pin in ear to finish it of. Very clever engineer JT
JT......John Thorby...bloody hard case critter he was....great competitor...we had lots of battles in my early years..until I leant to use single pulse turbo's as opposed to split pulse which was best for 4 cylinder cars...then he was a blur in my mirror, along with Jim in the modified VW! Ok Allan Moffatt and Jim Richards are obvious here but the Camaro I'm not 100% sure but could be John Riley.

Comaro #3 is Robbie Farrar, of Safa toolboxes fame. The other Comaro is obviously Dave Baker
