Holden
Cobra - think it was on the " Indy Run " a road rally run in conjunction with the Carnival.
Nice car .
End of the interlude, have few shots from 2003 but not very good.

Have been to various meeting since 2012 to 2015 but no programmes like these with the history of the track and some great photos.
Thanks to the efforts of many the track still survives after a major rebuild in 2009, and the improvements are ongoing
The Norm Beechey Monaro came to New Zealand and featured in a video clip on TRS recently

2011 was the Golden Anniversary - the Track which struggles at times is still going at 57 years on from 1961.
A photo Poster from Brian Ferrabee ;
The 50th Anniversary Classic Historics Season was Three meetings and I got to Two of them - no camera though only the Programme's [ and tickets ] to show.
First meeting was in May and had only just arrived in Queensland, so missed out on attending.
Met Seaqnmac at one of the meetings in 2014/15.
July 2011
August
Tickets from the last time I went - the " Italian Challenge "meeting September 2015 - my Birthday actually.

Returning to Queensland in May 2020 for a holiday and catch up with family and friends - mainly Kiwi's .
Hope to get to Lakeside for a Sprint or Race meeting - understand the track has had noise issues in 2019 and had some meetings cancelled.
Brian Ferrabee [ a guy from Pirongia / Te Awamutu ] - who provided an image on this thread, is the Announcer there and siupporter of QR with Young Drivers.
Will try to catch up with him, just need to persuade the Brother-in-law to take me in his Toyota F86 Coupe.
Hope see some good racing, good cars.
A memory from 2015. A Chevron and a Brabham BT29 in the pits.
Any TRS members would like to catch up when we get there - at the Track.
** update August 2024 - My wish list - never made it in 2020 - from world wide reasons - got to QLD in May-June 2024, but no time for a visit to Lakeside.

2021 at Lakeside should be the 60th Anniversary Celebrations - hopefully with a series of Special Events as they did for the 50th in 2011.
Going through my archives - a collection of several boxes, came across this Poster.
as mentioned on " Motoring Books " thread attended the last two of the four events in 2011, plus others over the years 2011 to 2015/16.

Ray,
I did not find that photo but I did find this interesting article with a photo right after the start of the 1966 Tasman Series race at Lakeside which was the 31st Australian Grand Prix.

Ah yes, that's it... the photo at the top with the field starting to pour into the kink...
It was a good spot for taking photos, I took a similar one at the previous meeting when a heat the Australian Tourist Trophy started, but I got that from further up the hill:

I must talk to Mark about crediting me with that AGP pic, the credit is in the book.

While living on Bribie Island 2011 to 2017 - where I joined TRS from in 2015, I went to Lakeside many times
- usually 3 - 4 times a year. Last went in 2016 from memory - only got ghe " good camera in late 2015 when the photos on this thread were posted.
Left Australia in April 2017 to return to New Zealand to live, 2024 were going back to visit in April / May 2020, but that didn't happen.
Finally returned in May 2024 for 3 weeks, and just got home.
Didn't get to see any Motor Racing, but did catch up briefly with my " Companion " at Lakeside - my brother-in-law, who was going through Cancer treatment And then got Covid - hence seeing him " briefly ".
A couple of photos - of previous events with Clive.
One at Lakeside in 2015 and the other is at Scarborough for an Austin Healey " Show and Shine ".
The only Motorsport related trinkets I brought back are a couple of Car Magazines " Australian Muscle Car " and the UK one " Octane ", plus a small collection of Hotwheels, and a set of mechanics and driver in 1;64 by an American Company
- " American Diorama - Tarmac Works " - BRE Race Drivers set.
