As usual Rod, you memory is excellent, did you run against him at all in any cars?

A real slice of history Rod, great pic. Be hard to recreate this grid, those HRs really rust bad.
The interesting thing is that there are no Lexington restorations, one Winfield, but the Cambridge colours seem to be the ones that are popular.

What other Cambridge cars are about, apart from the T70 which still looks shit-hot today?

Barry Phillips is rebuilding his Mini, Kett runs a look alike Camaro in the Central Muscle Cars, I am rebuilding the Monaro- see my thread New Zealand motor Sport Reporter-, Anderson BMW is on hold. The original Black/Coppins Camaro -now red-runs with big flares in CMC .
isnt it fantastic the saloons all survived.
Cant answer for any formula fords, Radisich M10A, or Holden HR station wagons.

No clues on page 1, Rodders ?
Thanks John, that's good news indeed. And yep, I'd be amazed if any of the HRs were still lurking...

Of coarse, photos on page 1, did Crosbie run under same colours for awhile. I think it was Crosbie who took over the car after Simpson.

If you check Crosbies colours they are similar style.

We've seen this before but in the context, it shows the Winfield sponsored Firebird of Rod Coppins in early 1972, and in the background is the Team Winfield tents. The big one on the left housed at least 4 cars, It was quite a presence. pic by jack Inwood, copywrite Bruce McLaren Trust.

Thanks to everyone who has fed into this thread.
Another team from the past- Molyslip (early / mid-60s?) I'm thinking Rod Coppins in the Zephyr and Jack Nazer in Anglia.
Who can add some detail on cars and drivers under the Molyslip banner?

Shoreboy57- the Molyslip team had some coverage on another thread.
I still have an unused Molyslip sticker in one of my Motorman mags. Cool colour.

Courtesy of the late great Jack Inwood, a nice piece of history. I can recognise Jack Nazer, Roly Levis and John Ward. Not sure who is behind the flag but I don't think it's Rod Coppins.

I think the guy leaning against the Cortina just to the right of the pole might be Glen Jones. Bob Homewood would also probably know some of the other faces, as people like Bill Norrish would have probably worked on these cars.

What a great line-up. Something of a noticeable Ford bias here (other than the engine in the Mk2). Small Fords need molyslip? The aero work on the Anglia front lights are a treat. Whoever did the work on 135 may have been fantasizing at the thought of his girlfriend's tight sweater perhaps?

What about the Motordrome Racing Team? - in the NZ national motor racing colours of....and silver
Re the Lola T70 - you could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw that at Goodwood in 08 - it had been nearly 40 years and I am sure the '22' was still in the tiny red roundel.
Re the Coppins Pontiac - probably the day that photo was taken I asked Rod for his autograph. I handed him my book and he said 'hold this' - so I took his helmet and while making sure I didn't drop it I accidentally took a photo. Somewhere in my awful box of snaps is a photo of the inside of 'Hot Rod's' crash hat...

Was wracking my brain this morning trying to think of the 4th member of the Motordrome Team. Team leader and patron Ivan Segedin, Anglia or Mustang?, Howden Ganley Lotus 11 and Dennis Marwood presumably in his Humber 80 days. Was Ross Grenville the 4th?

Howard, was it not Bryan Innes?

Don't know, I have a feeling the 4th car was a single seater. Someone will know! Certainly Bryan Innes was from Hamilton. The Waikato area was a hot bed of Motorsport at the time.

Motordrome team members were Ross Greenville (Lotus 18 single-seater), Howden Ganley (Lotus XI sportscar), Bryan Innes (MkII Zephyr) and Dennis Marwood (Humber 80). Ivan Segedin was the team manager. Cars were dark green

Dark green and silver - NZ's racing colours!
