At last. Basically what some of us have already been saying and hoping for.
That should be:

Yes, that is what many of us expected (and hoped for). Thank you Mr Quinn.
I also hope Tony & Chris come out of this OK, and are still involved in some way. After all their tenacity, hard work and dedication, they deserve to.

Totally agree. We owe Tony & Chris and the late Geoff Manning a huge debt of gratitude for having the courage and dedication to take such a huge step. It was Geoff Manning who scouted the area initially and their first choice location fell over at the 11th hour when the landowners stated they reserved the right to return the land to its present state in 70 years...
Fortunately, the current site(s) were available not long after and they grabbed them. They haven't had a very easy ride (understatement) but have always been extremely positive.

I agree with what John and Ray say.
Tony and Chris have been very dedicated to get the circuit to where it ia now, all the crap at the start, also the GFC.They deserve to be acknowledged. We all have to thank the original apartment buyers for helping get the whole project started initially.
I certainly will be looking forward to the Aussie GT cars racing at HD they were impressive at Highland Park.

Is there an on line link Dale, as our Property Press is North Shore only!
Word is that there may be another $20m spent over the next couple of years to finish off the original vision. That can only be great news for everyone.

Found it in the property section of today's Sunday Star Times.
More "Real Estate Speak". Funny, I never knew that "it is just a short drive away from Matamata and the Hobbiton movie set..."
I'm sure the North Shore would have been a shorter drive away, given that it takes us 50 minutes to get to HD and two hours exactly to Matamata...

It also had Raglan as a short drive away. It would have to be close on a one and a half hour drive. Takes me just over an hour to get to HD from Karapiro.

Good news for motorsport in New Zealand.
A big thanks to Tony, Chris and the late Geoff Manning for their work, foresight and ability to get the track up and running. In spite of efforts by Government departments to get it stopped. And in wasting god knows how much money on Pukekohe.
Maybe Tony Quinn would consider standing for president of that lame duck outfit called motorsport nz and putting its house in order. Rod Millen as vice president and Chris and Tony as executive members. Then we may get some sensible decisions.

Beowulf and others, Tony Quinn will be good for Motorsport, ; MSNZ seems to lurch from one bad decision to another, not supporting the people who make it happen, the competitors and the Car Clubs and their members

Wasn't aware that anyone (apart from a Delegate and an Observer of an affiliated Club) could attend AGCM's.

No, was not invited as no longer in a Club, but do remember the lack of support given to Club Officials back when there was a fatal accident at a Dunedin Revival meeting, MSNZ only stepped in when the club organisers were being held personally liable and being charged by the Police.
CAMS has a similar situation at the moment with a Child Spectator killed and two more injured at a Rally in W.A.
Only hope that Tony is supported so that Hampton Downs remains a great event area for Classic / Historic and other forms of motorsport.

That club is very hard to get into, and you also have to remember no "d" otherwise you are just a pretender, Roger H has all the rules available on the payment of a small fee

Today is the day. It should be an interesting year or so. Really looking forward to seeing the circuit completed to Tony and Chris's original plans. Roll on the next 6 months.
