France, Germany and GB do battle in the Arrow Wheels grid. The owner of the Jaguar is building a C type Jaguar replica and also has a Lloyd.
More like it. Spectacular up to a point, but the clouds of acrid smoke drifting across the National track on a regular basis from several drifters made it a very unpleasant place to be, especially for the flag marshals who had no option but to stick it out for the day.
I bet the Cobra replica driver doesn't get too many speeding tickets judging by the location of the front number plate.

Ray,
As I am not part of the NZ scene I would like to ask who is the gentleman on the left with the cane looking down ? (Post # 1855 )
I do recognize Bruce T. who left me to go lunch with the rich and famous at Laguna Seca and the other is a man I almost met at Laguna Seca, Dale Mathers.
(A lonely Kiwi looking in from the outside, Ken H.)

The gentleman on the left is AMCO, Gerald Fogg, Angus Fogg's dad.
In the far right corner of the garage is Racing Ray Williams and it looks like Paul Madeley's Porsche 944 Turbo, prior to its maiden track run, on the left.

No bones Bruce, you had your steak and BBQ chicken lunch with dessert and I found an old packet of sunflower seeds at the bottom of my back pack so it was all good mate. Perhaps we can do it again next August.
Cheers,
Ken
plus thanks Ray for the identification of Mr. Fogg.

Still on the club circuit. Frasers were out in force, but looks like a Caterham behind this one.
Tony Olissoff's Brabham stopped on the exit to turn 1 during it's first race. Not sure why.
The ladies were collecting for breast cancer awareness.
Always something in the car park to look at.

Somehow or other, a set from Goodwood 2016 didn't get uploaded. Never too late. The 'Motor Show' hall was busy, probably with many sheltering from the rain on the Saturday. But this was Friday when the weather was fine.

The Badger.
Hi GeeBeeNZ,
I’ve checked with a couple of friends who knew the previous owner (John Heaney) better than me and have come up with the following information on this car.
John Heaney owned the car from the 1980s until just before his death in April 2015. He always referred to it as the Badger. He ran it in competition briefly while living around Auckland in the late 1980s (it may be remembered by others who were messing with sports cars around Auckland at the time). John only ran it a few times as the handling (or lack of it) scared him!
In all the time I knew John, I never consciously laid eyes on the car but we talked about it a few times as it had a similar appearance to my car (Triford Special). For much of the last 25+ years of his ownership, it was down here in Wellington, dismantled while John contemplated fixing the rear end so as to resolve the handling issues.
The car is in Graham Vercoe’s Historic Racing Cars of New Zealand (as usual, not all information relating to the entry is correct). From memory it was built by Ian Macrae with a fully enveloping body but, obviously, was changed to the open wheeled configuration at some point.
Basic details of its assembled parts are: space frame, split beam front axle, Cortina 1500 pre-crossflow engine, trailing arm rear suspension with a Triumph Herald differential and (by the look of it) a 4 link set up.

Seems the uploader system isn't working for me...
Can't select the files in bulk (six) at the moment. No idea what has changed, but it is too long winded uploading one at a time.
Steve is aware of the issue, could be related to improved security settings, so in the meantime, I'll busy myself with filing the recent pics - and maybe weeding out some of the near duplicates of many cars. This is more of an issue in the digital age, where instead of taking two or three rolls of film at the most, in a day, say 100 shots, now it can be 700/800 a day easily - more so with an event such as Goodwood, with so many fresh subjects.
Taking pictures of the same car at different meetings and from different locations is fine, but sooner or later, you end up with near identical ones. Culling them later however, is a major, time consuming mission and has to be slotted in with the other computer housekeeping.

Thanks Michael. It's amazing what you CAN'T find easily on the internet.
Uploading issues still not fixed, so only a couple. Looking forward to Hampton Downs (short track) for the annual low key HRSCC meeting on Sunday. (Replaces Taupo.)

Trying to slim down the library of photographs, whilst the uploader problems persist.
Made a start on the British Road cars. In terms of makes, from 'A to E' only, so far, slimmed it down to 1465 pics...
