Great shots Nigel. Looks as though you did manage to get across the track for a new vantage point.

Yes I did, and thank you. I thought, when I asked for a pass in the morning, that they were going to decline my request. But when I mentioned that I post my photos to the Roaring Season, they were happy tp issue me with the pass. Thanks again.

Nigel - could you please post any ERC series pics, if you have any, on the ERC thread?

Brilliant photos Nigel...what camera etc? (don't tell me it's your I phone or I'll throw my Nikon away). Well done anyway and thanks for posting them.

PS: to GD66: it's not a tribute car, it's one of the last survivors of that era together with Rayden's ex Jim Richards 102 Escort, and both are registered NZ Historic Cars.

I think you're referring to the Halliday Escort? Defiantely one of the highlights for me.

Great to hear you used The Roaring Season as leverage to get a pass Nigel. Sounds like this site does have its uses afterall!

To everyone who took the time to post photos and info from the NZFMR the last two weekends, I'd just like to say a huge thanks. Its really been a joy to follow, and the photos are just incredible.

My pleasure Jaydee.
At the moment I'm using a Canon 7D with a Tamron 150-600 zoom. With this combo I can see the whites of their eyes!!

RacerT wrote:Hi Ray
It was never stated that 50 cars would be racing. The promotional material specifically said there would be 50+ cars at the Festival. This is what was achieved. 26 cars were racing, 10 were on display in Hamptons and 17 were in demo's at lunch time and in the afternoon session.
We initially believed that we would top 60 cars, but the upcoming Monterey F5000 racing in August 2015 kept a lot of the overseas cars as we came nearer to commitment time for the Festival. Hopefully the BRM V12's, Ferrari V12 and the 3 seater F1 cars helped to compensate. As organisers, we apologise if you believe you were short changed. As always, we do our best! Regards Tony Roberts

RacerT,
I have to take your side on this one - people expect too much a lot of the time ..... to have 26 F5000 cars racing is amazing, and would not happen anywhere else in the world ..... Really good to see your M10A high-wing is running, and quite a few McLaren's now in the field of cars.
Best wishes,
Peter Russell

Note to wifey. I need a 150 - 600mm lens... Brilliant pics Nigel. You have a very good eye for a photograph as opposed to just a snapshot.

Yoshimi Katayama's shed as I understand! Quite a feat to spirit a car of this level out of Japan, and I'm pretty excited to see (and hear!) it run.
