In the background is the Corkscrew Hill.
If one can make it up there it does give long distance views of the circuit.
Here is a comparison between the 1968 track at the Can Am race. (Note the crowd compared to this year.)

2022 and see how the track has been configured to come back around and under the Michelin bridge to turn 4.

Came across this recently and forgot to note the full details - believe it is 1959 !! Ken h may know more..

The corkscrew is where one of the overbridge crossing's is - #5 .. that hasn't chnaged.
