Totally agree, Very nice shots Nigel!khyndart in CA wrote:Great photos Nigel,
I am almost ashamed to put my photos in but then again we were all there enjoying these cars while we still can.
I certainly enjoyed our time together remembering our Morrinsville days and also thanks for the ride as I don't think I could have walked that far. I tried to jog up the driveway to make out to the "rellies" that I had run all the way but they were watching as you let me off ! I thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip. Thanks again.

These 2 cars were battling in out for 3rd,4th,5th at the 1970 Easter Baypark meeting when Terry Allen brought his big block Camaro over.
Both had been at the Dec 29 1969 meeting with the F5000 and both had engine problems then.
Neat to have them both running here together again, that what Historics are all about- see my Monaro thread-

Ok everyone- yes I accept that I am obsessed with the real historic cars and details.
Ever since I saw this pic from April 1970 I knew in 2013-how the years have flown- that I would restore the Monaro and get it back on the track with Raydon , recreate the position, put the photo here and say " This is what we aim for, get those cars from back then and get them on the track together again".
The Roaring Season Thread helped this to happen, this is why it exists- to make the past live again.
Thank you Nigel for being there to photograph this moment and complete the circle

Sorry John but we could not replicate the “crowd”John McKechnie wrote:Ok everyone- yes I accept that I am obsessed with the real historic cars and details.
