Mini 7/ kart racing on Moorhouse Ave

Hi Guys,

Long time watcher, first time poster. Just out of interest, does anyone have any pics of the Mini 7/ kart racing on Moorhouse Ave, CHCH, that was held in the mid 80's? Sounded like a really cool event. I think there was some footage of it during an interview with David Oxton (I think) on TVNZ during the summer series - maybe someone has seen this footage as well and could pinpoint exactly which event on TVNZ that was shown on. There is a possibility it also had its own event coverage?!

I can remember that event. Think that CTV covered on their sports show.
Have some tape somewhere of the Mini 7's at Wigram - lots of drafting and like fifth going to first etc at the end of the very long back straight!
Is James Daniels still around in CHC - he could help.

Remember the karts, must have been about eight or nine at the time. Vaguely recall one driver who was lying right down on his back rather than sitting upright and he managed to win a lot of the races.
