Mk 1 Jaguar race car?

Post by Mark M »

Hi I am looking for an information on a Jaguar M1 that I am restoring.
I purchased it from the Wanganui area and was told it may have some race history.
The car came to me without motor or gearbox however I was also told it had a super- charged jag engine fitted at some point. The car was last registered in 1973 and still have Reg and Wof stickers on the windshield, it has disc brakes all round and some interesting other modifications including to the pedal box and engine bay inner guards, diff and front bumper. The car looks to have been repainted red sometime around 1973 also and has some black interior including headlining and only front seats. If you can fill in some of the history of the car it would be great.
Regards

Mark

I remember a British racing green Mk1 in Karori in Wellington in the 70s, that was very quick and talk was it was supercharged. It was road registered and did have some racing history, was your car from Wellington is there green under the red paint?
That's all I remember sorry. I do remember back then it was for sale for $350.
I will inquire with the Wellington car club, they have quite an archive of pictures.
Cheers Paul
