R.I.P Dennis Lyon

Post by paul lancaster »

Sad to here of dennis^s passing in cromwell, nz, a few weeks ago.dennis was a well known and respected engine builder.
dennis also built 2 formula fords as an 18 year old, as part of his apprenticeship, the lyon dl1, and the dl2.
only the dl2 survives, and was way ahead of its time when it was built.this car went on to win a nz championship, the 1988 goldstar hillclimb champs in the hands of trev parmenter.met dennis a few years ago, he came and viewed the dl2, and told us all about when he built it.
