Great lineup Dale, guaranteed crowdpleaser of the weekend! Wouldn't it make sense to take it on for a third consecutive weekend at Taupo, including the Aussies. Two variations of Hampton Downs plus the Taupo track would be a great experience for our visitors and plenty of time to get the cars back for the beginning of their own local series.

Looked at all that but 3 weeks in a row was a costly hassle let alone the extra cost to the Aussies to get there cars to Taupo and back again. Tiz a great idea though

This is the latest New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars/Historic Saloon Cars legends poster I just completed, and which will be available at the Tasman Revival at Hampton Downs in January. Jack Nazer will be on-hand to sign copies.
Thanks to Terry Marshall for the beautiful photos.Dale Mathers has organised to have Jack at the event, while Mike Coory at Health House is printing the posters.

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
Had a great two weekends of back to back racing at the Tasman Revival and Ken Smith Festivals, we had two brand new cars turn up for HMC, Steve Doughty's beautiful 68 Camaro and Richards Ryans amazing little XUI Torana(real one apparently) and more are coming.

Sad to hear the passing of Invercargill HMC racer Colin Dawson last night. Just after 2 weekends of fun racing with the HMC/HSC group. Condolences to Colin's family and his friends from around New Zealand and in Invercargill. RIP Colin

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
Well that's the HMC/HSC season done and dusted, the "Legends of Speed" meeting went down a treat and what was looking to be threatening weather conditions heading up to the weekend ended up not been the case, in fact it was perfect racing conditions, high humidity keep the big cars slow and the grid tight which made for some fantastic battles. All three races went to the checker with no on track damage between cars. All in all a great weekend for our Historic Muscle and Saloon group. As I'm racing myself I can only capture pit pictures, here are a few. Dale M

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
Was great to see new comer Ashley Sherlock in his LH Torana join the group, his first time on Hoosier tyres he was a bit nervous but out of the box he was on the money and set good times putting him mid pack. The Torana performed extremely well and he finished every race, well done Ashley.

Great weekend Dale. Good clean racing, fantastic weather, the joint BBQ a success.
You can have rest now on what has been a very busy race season, 8 race events including the South Island and the ATA boys.
Cheers

Also a BIG thanks to Mike Wigmore for his coordinating this weekend and all season, mikes got it down pat and works with the class directors and track personal, his friendly smile and approach makes what he does sit well with all the racers, a great asset to the class. Dale M

Talking to Tony and Chris Watson over the weekend, that the whole Hampton Downs pre TQ, is a story just waiting to be told. I didn't expect Tony to be taking notes so soon...
I'll put my hand up to write it!

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
Without a doubt the shot of the weekend was this one from Phil Noble, well done Phil.
The Hoosier Bias are absolutely incredible to race on and a great leveler for the V8 cars.......they take skill, patience and knowledge of car set up.
