LOVE these images! Interesting to see the two Camaros that made their Bathurst debuts in 1979. Others will know better than me, but were they given special dispensation to do this event?

Not special dispensation, but they were hamstrung by having to use drum brakes on the rear, despite coming from the factory with four-wheel discs. The general consensus was that CAMS were worried they would run away from the field. They were about 100kg lighter than a Falcon Hardtop with similar power.
