We watched it (JC & crew) for the laughs first, cars second. You don't get a World wide following and bags of income for no reason.

I liked the old Top Gear, except for the casual damage they did to classic cars, just to get a laugh. Purposely destroying a Maserati Merak's engine, denting a Urraco while parking it, drilling holes in the roof of a Dolly Sprint and filling it with water etc etc. They weren't really enthusiasts nor did they seem to know much other than the vehicle specs, 'positive camber' any one? I'll miss the comedy and the adventure episodes and their fantastic production values but I found that by the end it had gone from must-see tv to something that was really starting to annoy me. I'm getting my classic car fix with some of the excellent 'Petrolicious' videos....
