Would you like a pair for your collection also ?

After meeting you last year Ken and the great time at Laguna Seca, better keep your spare room tidy, you could end up with a boarder, never too late cobber.

Don't think so, Murray & I would have had trouble catching Prattley, more likely one of the Invercargill lads, that pic would have been taken at one of the 1969 club meetings.

One of those meetings where your entry fee was refunded at documentation prior to tech inspection and then your points/placings were tallied up for the day and prize money paid out before you went home, you see back then the clubs realised that without cars and drivers they actually had nothing to get the public to come and watch, plus we/I raced in the overalls we wore to work on Friday and the car only had to have a fire extinguisher- no roll cage ( I did put one in that Anglia, probably one of the first to have one in a road car, no WOF issues with fitting it! ) -No COD- no trailer- no pit crew- no rain tires etc- that Anglia was my only source of daily transport and that thought of having to go back to a pushbike to work was not pleasant, so I/We tended to drive with that in mind... although I suspect there are still a few armchair experts around who would suggest that I tended to test those boundaries at times!

Auto news shows this car in the pic behind Peter effin Kocis and says Austin Prattley, same number-83,-colour, MK2 with centre tie down strap between bonnet and bumper.
. He broke his screen, had to dive down to Invercargil to get another and got back , missing the 20 lapper.
Will post this soon.

Rod,
This is not a bad "neck of the woods" but we may not be able to cover all your needs. I will tidy the spare room.

Sorry Kevin,
I did not want to get run off by the TRS police !
You can Google ( gilda texter photos ) and let me know the correct I.D. number. I might have to make more room at my house !
That other photo was taken just across the road from home. (It shows the competition I am up against in my Mini Cooper !)

Found this old super8 video with some Cambridge saloons in it at Puke. Around 1970's? Any use for seeing colours etc?

Good old Norm, what a star he was.

Nice catch by Roy Harrington in the Escort, giving the marshals on Rothmans a bit of a workout...

Fine clip, thanks for posting it.
Who is the white Anglia pilot loosing it exiting the hairpin?
Certainly a good showing of Cambridge cars.
Shame Fahey wasnt allowed start where his performance dictated to give us all a chance of a head to head with Norm.

faminz thanks for posting the clip, not a good place for the marshalls, now that would be near the pit entry road ..

Amazing how many cars went off over the hill - small Fords a speciality!

This article was here before John.
Its by James Meale, the same gentleman who wrote the article above on your car and was in the Monaro Club Newsletter.
He is happy for it to be linked to this thread.
