The return to power years, and pre composite chassis. Some of the most exciting rear engined GP cars were built in this period, McLaren M7 and M23, Lotus 49 and 72, the screaming V12 Matras and many more.
I think McLaren Racing really stepped into the limelight with the M7 and the M14. The M9 was an experiment that some manufacturers tried unsuccessfully. Great to see Bruce have a win in the M7 at Spa in 1968. Apart form the Donnington Collection, are there any M7's still in existence ?? Would really like to see one of those in NZ.
The only one I have seen in NZ was the Donington car at the F1 exhibit at Wellington 2 years ago. I had hoped there would have been one at the McLaren Festival.
