Imagine filling one now,
Remember mate got his new one and when it arrived was just about empty so went to local station to fill it and kept looking under car to see if there was a leak.

Rod, speaking about the cost of fuel. My HMC Camaro is 13 to 1 compression so I run it on 113 leaded race fuel from STA. At $195.00 for 20 litres, (that`s $9.75 a litre) it`s using around 2 litres per lap around HD. So using 1 20L drum for each of the 5 outings each weekend over the two weekends of the Denny Hulme Festival, I tipped $1950.00 into the fuel cell - which didn`t have a leak! The guys at STA told me Tony Roberts bought 5 209L drums of 118 leaded for the Can Am cars at the Festival, so I didn`t feel too bad after knowing that!
Be interesting to find out how much it is in Queensland when the 8 of us race over there in June/July, as it`ll go through about the same amount.

Don't think about it Steve, it will interfer in your sleep. Lindsey did figures on F5000 running and put it down to the calculator being faulty.
PS 2litre a lap is conservative, you feathering it to much fella.

Was working in WA for 3 months about 6/7 years ago and a friend of mine came over the for V8SC round at Barbagello. Anyway on the Friday night we went out for dinner with Rosco McGlashan as Al (my friend) knows him. After dinner we were in the carpark and Rosco asked if we wanted to go to his place for a coffee, Al never one to say no said sure. To my amazement when we went out to his garage I was totally surprised to see Aussie Invader III sitting in an open container in there.
At this early stage we also seen drawings of Aussie Invader 5R as well. His original plans when building it was to be done in a casino in Las Vegas but that part of the project lost a bit of momentum when funding was a bit tight.

My friend Paula Elstrek drove that car on Lake Gairdner back in the mid/late 90s. I have a old VHS tape she gave me of the weekend. What a beast, she said Roscoe had even become spooked by it. On her second run she hit the afterburners for 3 seconds and hit 585km/h.. become the second fastest woman on earth at that time.

Awesome photo sent to me by Ken Hyndman, taken at the Bay Park Xmas meeting in December 1975. This appears to be the rolling start for race 1 (of 3). Who wants to name all the drivers/cars?

Nice work Jac, top of the class! I'd say that would be Grant Walker in the ex-Fahey Capri in behind Halliday. I'm pretty sure Roy Harrington was at this event in his Torana as well.

Re: Random Photos Thread
The Victor??? on the outside of Bellis would be Nazer pre paint job still running in the Yellow wouldn't it? Would the Escort on the inside of Bullivant be Woolf?

Yes I think you are right about the Woolf Escort Sean. But I'm pretty sure Jac has correctly called the silver Victor as being Lancasters Grey Ghost.

Re: Random Photos Thread
Yeah, I had ignored the obvious that Nazer is there 2 rows in front of Lancaster.

Yep you got them, except Alan Woolf in Escort (mac car) and Walker in Capri behind Halliday.
