Lost my way a bit

Post by DonC »

Hi to all, fantastic site, so glad I found it. Reading some of the stories and seeing the images of many of the old cars brings back so many great memories I even found one of myself at Pukekohe must have been around 79 or 80 in my poor little red 1600 escort being bullied by a big Mustang I think. I only spent a relatively short time in the sport in the late seventies and eighties but managed to race at every circuit both north and south Islands got to see a lot of race meetings so remember a lot of names of people that are on this website. I just recently made contact with Rob Halliday after reading some of the posts. I moved to Australia in the late eighties and hadn't been in touch since then. Still have involvement in the sport through Speedway and helping a young friend with his HQ. I still don't see the point of going somewhere unless there's a race track nearby. I will scan the few photos that have survived and post them soon, fantastic what George is doing getting some of the cars back out and on the track were they should be give it time it will grow. Thanks all
