Wayne Murdoch (Brabham Ford Twin Cam) in the pits at Teretonga for the 1968 International meeting. Leaning on the back preparing to push the car is Wayne’s father Bill Murdoch.

Beautiful shot here of Jim Richards in very close proximity with one of the people who would have a great influence on his career in the coming years. The fact Jim, in his 1,300cc Escort, was harassing Jim Carney in his much more powerful twin-cam Escort, was what got Carney's attention. If this kid could be this quick in that, imagine what he could do with something decent underneath him!

Both Richards and Carney have signed this photo for Bill.

Magic shot here of Bruce McLaren, hard under brakes into the Elbow, and on his way to winning the Teretonga round of the 1968 Tasman Series in his BRM.

Thanks Rod
It is good to be able to share the photos rather than leave them in a corner of the garage!!
It is great that they are appreciated. 45 odd years since they were taken but it doesn't seem that long ago really.
Cheers

Hey BP*it might be a long time ago but don't they turn back the clock? I can see you now perched around Teretonga creating these masterpieces, thanks so much for letting us re live it again. Trust you keeping well.

Well ain't this glamorous! BRM may have been a fully fledged Formula 1 team, but this photo showing their very basic set-up at Teretonga is a world away from the way modern day F1 teams function. No massive catering hall, home-away-from-home high-tech pit area, no army of mechanics, no giant mobile homes for the drivers to get some quiet time. Just a simple pop-up tent, barely large enough to fit two cars, dirt floor, and two mechanics. No doubt hot dogs and fries were the extent of the catering.

From Bill: "Barry Keen (Begg Twin-cam) watches the starter intently. In the background is Murray Jukes (Cooper BMC 1100). Teretonga club meeting June 1968".

Hi DJ McD
Great to hear from you, I remember your 105E Anglia, rego AC560, BRG colour and very fast, and also John Reid's silver Anglia AK2082, another very fast car. Yes all well here in Chch very busy and not enjoying modern motorsport as much as the good old days!!! Amazing to think the Formula 1 drivers came out to NZ each year with their cars!!
Are you back in Queenstown now?
Cheers

Absolutely startling shot here of Hill cranking on some opposite lock in his high-wing Lotus at Teretonga in 1969. Interesting how the wing widths on these cars changed from track to track. I assume higher downforce tracks had the wider wing, and high speed tracks had the wing pictured, which is much narrower.

Whats that old saying? 'I hate to see you go, but I love to watch you leave'.

2.5...nothing was over that up till 1970 when 5.0L (F5000) production engines were permitted to enter
