The 'Kiwi Trio' were all racing - Denny Hulme (with Jack Brabham in the #4 Lola T70 MkIII); Chris Amon (with Jackie Stewart in a Ferrari P4); and Bruce McLaren (with Jo Siffert in a Porsche 910).
Unfortunately Hulme was forced to retire with a suspected bent valve, but Amon went on to finish 2nd, and McLaren 3rd.
Phil Hill & Mike Spence won in their bewinged 7.0 litre Chaparral 2F (with its automatic transmission).
