Neil Stuart

Post by KiWinUS »

Anyone have any pics of the Legend Neil Stuarts cars or speed equipment ?
he had some awesome old race cars , flathead powered , jag powered & his corvette special.
I have owned a Stuart 2 carb flathead intake since 1971
This intake has been copied by Eddie Fairburn in a 4 carb version I have one of Eddies also.
cheers

Lots of info available on the Stuart cars and photos also such as Classic Driver Dec 2007 p 21, Classic Driver No 26 March/ April 2009, NZ Classic Car Issue #120 Vol 10 Dec ??, NZ Classic Car Issue 118 Vol 10 No 10 Oct 2000.
I have raced with Neil many times and the Stuart Jag is an immaculately prepared beast that goes like hell. Neil has stopped racing in Historic races and I hope I last as long as he has in the drivers seat. The BCM could out pace him on the street circuits as it is more nimble but on the circuit that Jag motor just blasted past down the straight.
I have lots of photos tucked away as many others will have also. Chris Read-Arrowtown.

KiWinUS,what do you know about the 'production' of your 'Stuart' manifold, reason I ask is that I have a polished 'Shuter' twin carb manifold to suit the 'Sidevalve' flathead motor that was produced along with a lot of other v8/60 partsetc by Frank Shuter,,in the 60's, behind the family home garage was another shed full of wooden patterns for producing these parts....regards thunder427/myles johnson

Wow, I'd love to see those. I'm sure I saw some Stuart flathead speed equipment when I visited Steve Montaperto last year. He has an impressive collection.
