Re: Lakeside Classic September 2015, Festival of Sports and Racing cars,
The Lakeside Classic is being replaced by Historic Lakeside in 2016.
A full historic meeting with all historic classes. Should be a great meeting.

Whats the best way to find out when this is on? I want to get there next year and try my hand at some photos! Actually its almost always the second weekend in March, and always a week before the F1 Grand Prix. Well worth the visit. Its better than the F1 GP these days in my humble opinion. Book ...

Re: Ganley Festival - Hampton Downs January 2015
For a man that has probably done more laps of HD than everyone else put together, I was distressed to see Tony Roberts still struggling at the hairpin and eventually spinning up. Tears welled in my eyes and I tried to suppress a sad smile when my 7 year old son then said...."Dad.....maybe that big ...

[B ]Hi Crunch. Better to be an old racer, than a middle aged spectator![/B] Being a middle aged spectator, I can still work my way up to being an old racer. God knows, the amount of money I've spent attending motor racing events on both sides of the ditch, even as a spectator, I could probably ...

God's of the oval ball? I didn't even realise they played Australian Rules Football in NZ.

Re: New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing (2014)
I hope my comments on catch fencing don't sound too negative. Its just a sign of the times that they exist and only requires one stray wheel ending up in the crowd to prove its worth. In Australia we are blessed that at just about all tracks we can rest our elbows on top of the fencing and watch the ...

Re: New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing (2014)
Any time you have the pit/paddock area located on the inside of the track, you are going to have problems seeing all the track from any one position. Thats OK for me, as I'm prepared to walk around the track to the various vantage points to watch the racing. I have a bigger problem though watching ...

Re: New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing (2014)
This has been asked on this post before, but is there an entry list for the whole event available. In Australia most organizers post an entry list and event schedule in the week leading up to the event. If that's not possible is there a results website we can look up to see who did what to who ...

You're right Jac Mac, Warbirds over Wanaka is on the same weekend. I was going to spend one day at the airshow and one day at Highlands for the historic cars.
I cant go too wrong, but it would be nice to know what will be happening for the classic cars at Highlands.

Historic Motor Racing, Highlands Motorsport Park Easter 2014.
Hi everybody. I was just looking at the Highlands Motorsport Park, Cromwell website and on the events page they list an historic Motor racing event for Easter 2014. They list it as NZ's premier Classic/Historic weekend (the NZFMR organisers might raise an eyebrow about that). Does anyone in NZ know ...

I suspect the scumbags that stole the trailer didn't expect to see that car inside the trailer.

Re: Australian V8 Supercars
With regards the the Aussie V8 Supercars TV coverage, its been pretty obvious over the years that V8 Supercars will side with whoever pays the most money, and you are just expected to go along with it. They did get a bit greedy with their TV coverage in Australia though, with V8 Supercars saying ...

Just looked at Friday's times on mylaps.
It's a pity there aren't more Can-Am cars running. The organisers had hoped for around 20 cars, but 9 practiced and qualified.
I suppose time and money would be the main issues.
