Re: Some old photos from the late 1960's at Pukekohe
Considering the size of the roll bar and the lack of circuit safety at Pukekohe in 1968, Denny Hulme was a lucky man ! I think that is Brownlie being attended to in the background. I can remember seeing a big cloud of brown dirt and Hulme's car somersaulting sideways from our view over on the Hill ...

This is an entry list from the Warwick Farm meeting on 5 December 1965. The numbers don't match but it does show the three Neptune Racing Team cars. Re: Geoghegan Family Cortina In New Zealand
Growing up in the 1960s , as a kid I went to the movies. Before the main feature there was black / white Aussie news staring off with Kukaburras then showing , I think, a Mk1 Cortina coming round the corner of a race track and rolling. What track and whose Cortina please ? John, if it was a white ...

Re: Austin-HealeyÂ’s and the Austin Healey Car Club of NZ and Others
If I may, a little story about Ross Bond and his Healey... Ken Webb did the preparation and they bought an alloy head for the car. The engine was built up with this head and all the other goodies they'd been using, nice and fresh, and put on the dyno. To Ross' horror it was down on horsepower ...

Re: Geoghegan Family Cortina In New Zealand
I think we once established that the Geoghegans had two Cortina GTs in modified form... One a 2-door and one a 4-door. Isn't that right? Dale would know, I'd expect. Yes the Geoghegans had two black Cortina GT’s, one four door and one two door. The four door was released in Australia some time b ...

Unfortunately Bob only got AUD 80 k for it when he sold it back in the day.

I can confirm that the MGB V8 on TradeMe is indeed the ex-Murray Baber car. It used to run with us as #107, but never with a front number plate. The transporter trailer that I bought from Geoff Bonham (and his MGB which is now back with me again) was I think, built by By'Gone, for Murray's car ...

Re: SCCA regional events in Texas etc. 1960s-70s through the lens of Jerry Melton
Terry, do you know of those rules applied to the (freakish) Australian variation of FJr? That is to say, the cars which ran 1101 to 1500cc engines. This was allowed in the CAMS version of FJr for about two years. Ray, as I understand the international regulations were adopted in full in Australia ...
