Re: Ross nova one
The yellow car is an earlier model Nova to the one Norm Beechy had, and is a more recent 'historic type' race car.

Thanks David, I couldn't remember Rod driving the Tec Mec with the single seater body as it was when Mansel had it.

Yes the Lenny Gilbert Coper Bristol sports, I think Bert Jones drove it a few times, maybe prior to these photos. The Maserati 250F is the Brian Prescott car with a young Richard Sisler assisting in the foreground left. Tec Mec at Ohakea is Johnny Mansel.

Re: The Barrie McBride Collection part 4
The elusive Mr Griffiths in the BRP, actually under its own power, a rare occasion! I can remember Rob Campbell of Hot Rod Magazine showing me a sponsorship proposal from Kaye Griffiths for the BRP Tasman trip, as I recall the intention was to win all the races and the series and for a huge amount ...

Re: New Zealand Allcomer Saloons
Thanks for that woody, good info. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the car actually still exists, though has spent many years sat outside and its condition has suffered. Yes, it has been mentioned a couple of times in the recent past in NZ Hot Rod Magazine, I think Rob Campbell tracked the ...

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
I can see this thread getting away from its original intent, to promote and provide news on the HMC.
The valid discussion on the running of historic events should perhaps be taken to a new thread?

Re: The Steve Twist Collection - Part 6
Maybe you are right. However, I have opened the 1967 Shell book and there are two pictures of Kerry Grant in that car and the helmet is a dark colour whereas the helmet colour in the one above is light. There is no doubt that it is the same car. Yes you are correct, it would be Vince Anderson ...

Re: Ford Sierra RS Cosworth/RS500
I think there is quite a large thread about the RS500 and their histories on the TNF forum. Short of attempting to unearh my great stack of Autosport magazines from the back of my storage container I can't really add any more to the photos I posted. Certainly some of the UK cars were run on minimal ...

These photos were taken in 1970, there were only 15 saloons registered at Stratford in 69/70, so I guess he is one of these cars, but numbers are almost imposible to make out. In the second photo there is an Anglia that could be #8. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f155/gavinevitt ...

Yes, speedway saloons at Stratford Speedway, known as Bill Taylor. Try the Taranaki Historic Speedway Ass. Inc. PO Box 4052, New Plymouth. I have nothing in my files other than a couple of mentions in the Taranaki Stock Car Club 20 years of Stratford 1964-1984 book. It was the very early days of ...

No, it wasn't a Johnson car, and all his Sierras were red anyway. It was at the BMW festival in very original condition.
