Re: New Zealand Mallock U2 race car history search

Warwick Tweedy (or Tweedie-not sure of correct spelling) was the guy responsible for building the "T Cars"-MG TF look alikes on Triumph chassis. He used to race with us at HRSCC meetings on the original Taupo clubby circuit. I don't personally recall your car but some members of HRSCC may remember ...

Re: B&W Photos 1968 - 1970; From Baypark to Amaroo Park by Ken Hyndman

Hi Ken Just found this thread 7 years later!!!!! whilst doing some research. You are correct-one of the two BT23s was owned by Bobby Rahal though I think it may have since changed hands. It is a rather long story. Baron Robertson bought the BT23 off Roly but The Baron had trouble getting to grips ...

Re: MNZ survey

As Oldfart rightly put it in Post #18 previously who gave the FIA and therefore MNZ superpowers to control motorsport? They only have power because we give it to them. And as Trevor says in Post #17 if people are happy so be it. But it is apparent that a lot of people are not happy. As Allan Dick ...

Re: MNZ survey

I cannot see how the FIA or MNZ have exclusive rights to car racing. In the case of a club (or clubs) choosing to run events without a MNZ permit what action could they take against that club(s)?

Re: MNZ survey

MNZ has morphed out of the original body called Confederation of NZ Car Clubs. As others have said it better represents racing at national and international level than it does club level motor sport. What benefit is it to someone doing a club event that MNZ is affiliated to the FIA for instance ...

Re: MNZ survey

I don't know how the survey was distributed. I assume it was sent to individuals who are on some MNZ database ie curent licence holders. Surely to have any validity it would have to include those who are no longer competing ie don't hold a current race licence.

Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection

Car #58 above is the Terra FX. Similar to some of the "twin boom" record breaker cars of the 50s and 60s in that the driver sits in a pontoon on one side and the motor and transmission (Suzuki 1300 Hyabusa from memory) are in the pontoon on the other side. In this case the whole underside is a big ...

The Coupe de Ville Binder was owned in 2007 by a man by the name of Lukas Huni. He paid US $16.5 million for it in 1987. At that time it was a world record high price for an automobile.

Very likely Steve. And what's more at one stage that weekend there was a near-new Veyron parked beside the marquee.
One of these days I will learn how to post photos on here and post some pics.
