The no 1 car is the typhoon , ended up in dave morrisons hands for a number of years, dave ran a 2 litre ford engine in it, I remember tow starting it with a tractor across a paddock at maungati, we used to race around the tarseal loop around his house in it.it is now in the hands of steve donaldson ...

Just got an email from media77, the photographers at the classic, they said that they never shot any formula junior pics, because they "didnt think anyone would be interested", really!!

Hi again guys, I have just looked up media77, which is a photograpic company , which was at the scope meeting, and at the levels southern classic. there are pics of most of the classes, but none of the formula juniors. perhaps the fjs have there own photographers, or some other "deal" going on ...

2017 formula junior world tour

Just come home from commentating at levels raceway in timaru, the 2nd leg of 3 for the southern festival of speed.
what a breathtaking field of 50 odd fjs.
a big congrats and thankyou to all involved, will most likely never, ever see this many again , at levels again

Sad to here of dennis^s passing in cromwell, nz, a few weeks ago.dennis was a well known and respected engine builder. dennis also built 2 formula fords as an 18 year old, as part of his apprenticeship, the lyon dl1, and the dl2. only the dl2 survives, and was way ahead of its time when it was built ...

Sounds like its going to be a great series again next year, if im not racing myself, I will be looking forward to commentating, and meeting all you guys.i have also heard there will be between 60 to 90 formula juniors for the next sfos as well.will be good to see spragueyagain to.

Thanks gokiwi, thats the beast, I mainly remember it when it was sponsored by exhaust systems, and later on waterbed world, and yes spinner32, I remember john osborne had an ol ambulance, also v8 powered.
