Dad 4CLT Maserati GP car , local hill climb , Timaru, the car had an up grade nose cone for this climb . Proud to be one of the Sons of this man , a hard bugger but a great teacher in more ways than one sadly missed .....

I had not really heard much about John until I arrived in London in the mid 70,s, I started to read auto sports, during my lunch times, John was way way up there with his connections in F1 & an engine builder [driver] , very highly respected , was mentioned often in that Mag for his many attributes ...

Pre 65 Rules seemed to work ok back then [sort of lol ] , BUT a year or two after this photo it went a bit pear shaped.....only thing was we were running out of good 289 blocks & heads [when they went pop it was a $40k fix for some back then as they would rev to around 8000 rpm & want to keep going ...
