Re: New Zealand Historic Saloon Cars Under HRC

We have a pragmatic approach to the grid Ray and while we are a historic group we do accept cars that don’t totally meet the criteria set down by our MSNZ Appendix Six, Historic. We still have a very high level of compliance in the group but driving standards are first and foremost the education on h ...

Re: New Zealand Historic Saloon Cars Under HRC

The Sports & GT group was included in HSC many years ago due to these cars were disappearing…..as you rightfully have stated Ray. With the formation of HVRA we continued this on and are building this group…today we have an FIA 70 Corvette, a very nic MGC GTS yes a replica but built in the UK, a very ...

Re: New Zealand Historic Saloon Cars Under HRC

Well we are back….but Historic Saloon Cars are part of HVRA-Historic & Vintage Racing NZ. Yes Historic Saloon Cars Ltd is a company owned by myself since 2017 and is still under my ownership. It is time to carry on We are not in anyway tied to HMC or Pre78’s….and that is a good thing. It is time to c ...

Re: Is Motorsport going the wrong way?

Much as I support the ethos of Historic Saloons, just one non-Ford at the Icebreaker suggests that it is easier to run with a Ford than any other make on the grounds of availability of parts, spares and performance equipment and even knowledge. I take my hat off to all competitors running something ...

We all look forward to the continuing story on the restoration of this neat SCCA C/Sedan Datsun 1200 Coupe.

I do also look forward to seeing it out on the track.

Re: Restoration Thread - The Standefer Datsun 1200

Incidentally, another car competing in the GT-4 race at the 1981 SCCA Runoffs was this pretty Alfa GTAj, driven by Bruce Perry. This car has history dating back to the late 1960s, where it contested the Trans-Am 2.0 class in the hands of Gaston Andrey. Amazingly, the Alfa also now resides in New ...

Re: RIP Kevin Green

Thanks Bruce, I am saddened by Kevin’s passing. I was aware he was not well and his desires to return home to race his Coupe. Kevin was a very good friend and his help to me with parts to restore the Tulloch Camaro was to me very much appreciated, hence our friendship grew. I was there when he left o ...

Re: 2021 Taupo Historic GP - TV Coverage

Watched it. Was very Ford oriented mainly featuring the various Fords there - not much of the racing but a good feature. It maybe available on " Three on Demand " - unsure about that. Hopefully the programme has been saved by TV Three - to be shown again. Well it should be Ford oriented as that was ...

Thanks Ray. Just found out today that I was successful in my application for a msnz accreditation, so it's back into the motorsport phase again. Looking forward to the Historic GP in a couple of weeks. Should be really good with a few cars that I haven't seen before. Great to see you have got thru ...

Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection

Yes, up early as the block layers were working on a wall at just after 7am so I had to be up. It's an interesting one Bruce, and where I fell out with the system. The Riley Elf and Wolseley Hornet never came out with anything other than a 998cc, single carb engine as you well know. Transplanting a ...

Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection

Good question Ray.......
One that I will ask for a ruling on.....
My Elf has proven race history at National level with Cooper S running gear so it most likely would get a Schedule K but I am luck as I have all the proof of documentation.

Cheers
