Re: 1:1 Scale Model - Maserati 250F
I drove past the maserati on the way to the carterton tip a weekend or two back, looks great in the flesh...I had to do a double around to have a second look, it is the only time I have had a honk from another motorist in Carterton for holding up traffic!!!!

Yeah, you are dead right about affordability of some of the early NASCAR type cars, at one point in time i would spend a huge number of hours on 'racingjunk.com' dreaming about what i could buy without mortgaging the house! As usual i just dreamed....

Parts are no problem, for small parts I get em local, a couple of places supply parts at reasonable prices. larger bits I import myself. I had heard about the steering mod before, good to hear it works as people say it does, ill put it on my list for Santa!

Great that you have the wife on board with your hobby, it sure does make getting it done a heap easier. Nice choice of cars too, I feel privileged to have one first generation Camaro, it can only feel twice as good to have two!! Nice mods to, don't worry about people who knock em, while you are out ...

In my opinion it needs to be over measured distance, that distance had always been a mile for the overall record, so that is the distance that really should be covered. Freeman even admitted to an overheating car after the kilometre, so would he have made the mile? how many times has someone broken ...

Don't talk to me about whinging Poms!!! The Roaring Season has turned into a whinge season! If I have to pay rates to the wonderful new Auckland Council, I am more than happy to have some of it and of everybody else's go towards something I could actually get enjoyment out of. What they are ...

Ya no, as I just don't remember these cars, evn though I went to the , 75,76 and 77 GP meets, I was only born in August of 73 so this thread is, like one of many on this site, one that promotes a great sense of jealousy, that people remember the sights AND sounds of it. I remember as a kid, dad had ...

The Pedal Cars on show this year for the first time were a great hit. Proud fathers escorted there kids to the start line, but what people didn't know was that there had beeen mechanics toiling away fine tub=ning the machinery. Wow, that last photo is great! I'm not sure what the new owner has in mind for this beast but it almost seems a shame to repaint the body, it looks perfect how it is, in its 'as last raced' condition.....
