Great photo Nigel, lots of nostalgia there. Anyone know the grid line up. Is that a Viva on the front row?

Re: Images From My Past - Nigel Watts Collection

I have been going back through some of your earlier postings Nigel, a very enjoyable pastime. I have recently bought the ex Mike Westall MK 2 Jaguar and I note that in post #204 the first image shows Mikes car transporter CMS Racing in the background and a group of guys around the MK1 Jag, one of ...

Malcolm,
Many thanks for that. Pure gold!!
Rhys,
Imagine getting even half that entry for Roycroft. Let it serve as an inspiration to anyone who has or
knows of any of those cars to get them ready for next year.
Just got to hang in there.

Re: Old Programmes, movies and memories from the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies.

Thanks Ken, Apparently the car lost it's bonnet at a NSSC 1/4 mile sprint at Ardmore. In an attempt to gain more power they tried to supercharge the engine, a Bill Sheilds worked on the car. Bobby Wong sold it to Nado Dean July 1962. BTW Bobby still lives in Auckland and I believe still plays the ...

Re: Old Programmes, movies and memories from the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies.

Wow, what a lineup of drivers. Little wonder they drew such huge crowds.
I am wondering if there is any mention of a car I own, being entered in the sportscar races. Maybe 1958 or later.

If its good enough for Muscle Cars to be classed as 'saloons' why not an old 2+2 Jag.

Re: Matamata Round the houses.

Well done Milan, some great names and cars on that programme, thanks for having the foresight to keep a piece of paper most of us
threw in the bin the next day! My apologies for calling it Matamata Airfield (as it is now) back then it was always called Waharoa
Aerodrome.

Re: Matamata Round the houses.

I sure remember the dual wheel Dodge, imagine trying get past, it must have 8 feet wide! Also Rod Coppins Mark II battling with a Mini Cooper, maybe Brian Innes? How good was that when the Motor Racing came to our hometown, seem to remember there was so much anti feeling from the residents about ...

RIP C.J.N.Roskilly, Did some work on my XK150 a while back. He had so much knowledge and skill with early Jaguars, sadly that
is lost. He will be missed.

Re: 2012 HRC Icebreaker, Hampton Downs

Well done Nigel & Co, great photos. Anyone brave enough to stand out in that weather with an expensive piece of electronics deserves a medal!! What the track photos don't show is the presentation of most of those cars, especially in the Muscle Car grid. Both inside and out they are immaculate, and a ...
