Re: New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing (2014)
Went out there yesterday and really enjoyed it, at least half a dozen times I saw something which made me think the price of admission was well worth it but one of the best was hearing the 3 Formula One Ferraris circulating the track - you really didn't need to see them - just hearing rise and fall ...

Re: New Zealand Festival of Motor Racing (2014)
Just saw 3 Ferrari's travelling in tandem down the Auckland Sothern motorway - at least one looked like an F40, then a Morgan and an early 911.

Really enjoyed it - Niki seems happy with it and the Hunt website seem happy as well, given how poorly the movie could have turned out (I recently watched Steve McQueen's Le Mans) it's a pass and my wife who isn't into motorsport at all loved it.

Completely agree re tossers - if you look at the photos on Groundsky it had to be obvious to the drivers of these leaking cars what was happening.

Re: 2013 Icebreaker ~ Hampton Downs
Thanks for posting these - always good to see your own car - mines the Citroen heading for possibly it's only ever victory. The munted Renault got loose in the oil\saw dust on the sweeper understeered to the left and got a wheel onto the grass and then spun to the inside of the track hitting the ...

That's crazy, nothing the driver could have done (well at least if I was driving) and two other cars already parked there.

Re: PUKEKOHE
I really like the changed lay out - certainly helps even out the power differential but it has been poorly executed as others have said standing water on the track even when not raining heavily. And the single seaters were bottoming out on the new ramp leading to the practice grid. And six million ...

Just in case it helps - my 1965 E Type has a COD and 4 pot Wilwood calipers.
There weren't any issue with them.

Re: New Zealand Historic Muscle Cars Under HRC
Hi John McKechnie - I was there on the second Sunday and I can tell you that the sight of the Anglia and your car three wheeling around that corner had the crowd gasping and then applauding!
Cheers

Chris Watson said at Taupo last weekend that ticket sales are 200% ahead of last year - sounds like it will be a great couple of weekends.

Denny Photo
Denny4.jpg I purchased this photo off a collector eight years ago, what makes it special is on the back Denny has written "The reason I look spaced out here is because Clermont was very bad circuit for making the drivers feel sick. Most drivers used open faced helmet as they were quite often sick ...

My two seconds of fame was the lovely overhead shot of my Golden Sand E Type Roadster, it was a magnificant event and I thought the documentary captured the spirit really well.

This looks like a great event, seriously thinking about entering next year - bit of a treak from Auckland though.
Just have to decide if it is Citroen BX16v or E Type Roadster - Citroen much quicker but not quite as classy.
