Re: RUSH

I thought so too, but that scenario was probably a little too convoluted to portray in an easily-understood manner for newbies. In terms of adding to the truth-is-stranger-than-fiction real-life drama that played out over the course of that season, it would have been right up there. Still a good ...

Re: RUSH

I enjoyed it, a few good bits from the 76 year were missed, IE the drama at Brands Hatch.

"In the name of glory" is good book on the 76 year:

Re: Article: BMW M3

I have a feeling the ATCC was no longer running to Group A rules by 1991? Wasn't it a sort of CAMS created thing that attempted to produce an even balance between the various manufacturers, rather than the more black and white Group A rules? I recall the Skyline's being heavily weighed down with ...

At the start of the 88 season FISA announced they would be clamping down on what they called "irregularities" (they didnt call it cheating). First up was turbo cars must run the intercooler homologated on the road car, previously this was in the grey area of the rules. Next was fuel inlet system ...

Here are some more RS500 photos. Again, none are mine - I've just found them on the net over the years and saved them - Sharing them because they're great shots of awesome cars. NZ attack on Le Mans 1996? Any info?

Does anyone have any stories/photos on the 1996 New Zealand challenge at Le Mans?
The drivers I know that were in the team were Greg Murphy and Bill Farmer. Im unsure who else drove?
The car they raced was a Porsche 993 GT2.

Any information would be grateful.

Re: Nissan Mobil 500 Races - VHS videos and official results/entry lists

Hi Steve, there was 500 2.5 road cars built in 1990> to homologate the 2.5 engine (and a few other parts) This car was called a "Sport Evolution" or "Evo Sport" It was much the same scenario as the RS500, to homologate the trick parts for Gp.A. So to answer your question, the 2.5 engine was ...

Re: 1996 Nissan Mobil 500

It was its own series wasnt it? I cant recall the Nissan Mobil 500 being part of any other series apart from the WTCC in 1987. Also, remember back in 1996 there werent a lot of full time professional teams like we have now in the V8 Supercars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Australian_Touring_Car ...

Re: Ford Sierra RS Cosworth/RS500

I hadn't realised that Brocks car was the 1988 Rouse car. I always just assumed it was a Rouse customer car. In fact, Brock had at least two Cosworths, and possibly even three. He ran two cars in both 1989 and '90. Must have been depressing to then end up back in a Commodore in 1991. The reasons ...
