Re: Lost Race Cars
Hi Jack, new family = no race car for a while at least. Lots of clever engineering in many of the cars competing up the hill. Probably one of the last international race meetings that you pretty much have no rule book and a smart thinking guy can build something awesome and compete at the top level ...

The Mazda bodied Sports Sedan at Wellington street race, this was another car built by them after the Commodore, Brett has tried to find the original Commodore but don't think he is having much luck at moment. Re: Shaker Run Car Chase Scene
As a kid I was a huge fan of Shaker Run. I built this model of 'Shaker' when I was about 14, I hand painted what decals I couldn't find. I never could find a set of correct styled mag wheels so it got a set of tridens. I'm sorry the photo's are not in focus, I took these with my cell phone. 20150322 ...

Re: Indy Roadsters
Michael & Stu, Sorry I did not take a picture of #43 front on, but I have found that the car was called the 'Roy Brady Special' from 1957. Did it make the grid for that year? I know this is a 'Roadster' thread, but I do have a few shots of the Dirt trackers that ran at Indy in earlier years these ...

Re: Article: Hollywood Sport Cars McLaren MkI
I didn't know that he had anything to do with the modern version,
a real shame he never got to see it completed.
I think Pete & Jakes Rod shop may of restored the original car.

Re: Indy Roadsters
Michael, you might have to name these Indycars.
These were all at the Monterey Historics in 2007, the Indy Roadster was the celerbrated marque.
There must of been 40-50 of them, spectacular cars with their huge Halibrand wheels and
thumping 4 cylinder Offy's.

Doane Spencers '32 Hiboy
Taken at the 2007 at Monterey Historics. Doane's car is one very cool 32 that featured so many details, some pure Hot Rod custom stuff and others very much race car. There was also a modern version of the car parked behind it which was powered by a small block Ford. I think the Spencer car was going ...

Stuart Ford V8 managed a 13.92 that day.
Must of been just after the beach racing in Nelson as the extra large "beach proof" roll bar is still fitted.
Rear tyres were the fronts off Graham McRae's Crown Lynn McLaren.
Dad bought them off George Begg for $30 and he still has them.

Re: Pete Geoghegans Craven Mild Monaro
Vintage Craven Mild racing sticker,
The 1/43 scale model is fantastic, the detail for a models this size is brilliant.
The same guys also produce a high quality model of the Sidchrome Mustang, and other cool sport sedans.
