I came across this car and found that the owner lives close to Los Olivos. He has restored this 1982 Ralt RT 4 # 9 back to as it raced at Calder Raceway. Aust. in 1983 when driven by Paul Radisich. Grant, we know the A40 is fast, but dont tell us you were out chasing Hurricanes in this....excellent pursuit vehicle though. Hopefully no more hurricanes the size of Florence to deal with! I plan to register the A40 for road use as Peter Bennett did in NZ, so I can give it a run/systems check ...

Good news Steve, I will order a couple of copies online, obviously I'm especially looking forward to the Bennett A40 article! And regarding the A40, I've optimistically booked for Watkins Glen historics event this September although realistically have a slim chance of prepping the car in time ...

I'm a Kiwi Ray, been living up here for just 20 years although before that I visited US often (and Australia). I'm moving to coastal North Carolina soon, should have been late last year but hurricane Florence damaged our house there. Benalla is one of those names that stuck in my memory from ...

You got it, Ken! I was delighted to drive around it and photograph it in 2014, what an eye-opener it was! And thank you for telling me that is 'Spanish Moss'... I always wondered what it was from the first time I saw drawings of it in Peter Helck's book, The Great Auto Races . I actually felt sure ...

It has been a while since I last saw the Simpson Anglia and I understand restoration has started. I believe that tha car is being restored to its last guise as Goodlass ran it. We had David Simpson as our guest at the Taupo Historic Grand Prix and I understand that Jamie Goodlass who owns the car ...

Are you building an Anglia Grant ? That is one cool photo of the A40 with the nose off. Hi Bruce, I will start work on the Anglia after we get back on our feet after repairing the damage from the two hurricanes last September and October. Probably take most of 2019 to get back to normal! I'm ...

BD91613A-634C-414A-955F-AB177486756F.JPG Now a tricky one... The Bennett Austin A40 was in the programme for the Whenuapai 1992 meeting #40. It was not in the programme for the 1994 meeting - but there was no other car carrying #40 either. Stripping the slide, the film number doesn't equate to 1992 ...

The orange Ford in the foreground has the late Ross Atkins' name on the cockpit surround but I thought he had a BT18 but this car certainly doesn't look like a Brabham! It could be the one-off built and raced by his brother Francis perhaps ( the FBA?). My memory is fading but it was about 50 years ...

Hi John - in my teens I saw Peter racing the A40 at Levin, spectacular! We hope to run a few iconic events in USA - Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca and Sonoma if the hurricanes take a break for a year or two. Eventually the AA40 will return to NZ I hope with an interesting log book.
