Re: Kiwis Overseas

For example, today Dane Cameron won the Tudor Sportscar Championship race at Detroit. Dane is the son of Steve Cameron who raced Formula Vee, Ford and Pacific in NZ before moving to west coast, USA. Actually Grant, Dane is Steves nephew. his father is Rick Cameron (Steves little brother) who is ...

Re: unearthed old TV coverage 1987

Sending you an email about these Brett!

BTW, in your stills from the 84 video, the formula ford picture shows a '91 Van Deimen, and I think Mark Pederson in his Mondial? I'm thinking that was 1991/92?

Re: Formula Ford

I am a little bit confused with the yanky rules. Have been on the West Coast for forty-years . Have never seen those rules applied. I'm out in the Mid-West, and happened to see a 1600 car a couple of months ago. I am unsure of what championship the car runs in (I just assumed it was local SCCA ...

Re: Smash Palace - Car Chase Scene

I managed to pick up a (DVD) copy of Smash Palace here in the US about 5 years ago. It was packaged with "Sleeping Dogs".

Myself and another expat kiwi watched "Good Bye Pork Pie" over a couple cold ones a few weeks ago.

The old(!!) Lou Schollum is still a very pleasant guy. Its been about 3 years since I saw him last (Long Beach in 2009), and kept threatening to return home for retirement. Wonder if he's done it yet.

Re: Formula Atlantic/Pacific

As well as the chassis number of Radisich's 90H Reynard I am also keen to find out the chassis number of Cameron's 92H Reynard. I'll see if Steve remembers the chassis number and ask him where the car went. The Pope cars had gone by the time I got there in 1994, Steve ran a guy by the name of Bert ...

Re: Formula Atlantic/Pacific

I thought I would share an album of photographs I came across today, Atlantic Racing in the US and Canada in the 70's and early 80's. Some awesome photographs there. A few kiwi's are present, Allan McCall (and his Tui's), Dave McMillan and David Oxton. http://www.flickr.com/photos/46681980@N03/sets ...

Re: FNG

Thank you Steve, I hope I can contribute a little. My racing era is a little more modern than a lot of what I have seen on this site, but a lot of the names are very familiar. I worked for Steve Cameron's operation for 6 years, and actually ran his nephew Dane (son of Rick Cameron, and a very ...

Hello all, I was pointed at this site tonight, and instead of sleeping I've been browsing the wonderful stories from days gone by. I'm an expat kiwi thats been living in the US since 1994. I've been playing with (ie working on) racing cars since about 1987, Formula Ford and Formula Brabham in NZ ...
