They used the 3.64km International Circuit - as it was then. The current International Circuit is a bit shorter and bypasses the Club Circuit hairpin. They had a few delays at that first meeting and finished with an unintended night race for the Pre-65s.

Re: Fiat 125T
I've a copy of Driver magazine from Oct'72 that has the B&H race report including a couple of photos of GG7963 (it raced with the rego plate still fitted to the rear). If you send me your email address via PM I'm happy to forward scans to you. I might have some other photos/info as well - I haven't ...

Re: David Craw, singer Gazelle,, any other photos out there?
I've had a look through my race programmes and come up with a few hits (the filename of each image is the programme date & race venue): 1982-03-28_Ruapuna.jpg 1982-04-18_Ohakea.jpg 1984-01-29_Dunedin.jpg 1986-02-16_Dunedin.jpg This photo was in the 1990 SFOS programme - but would have been taken ...

There's a shot here of a Lotus 7 at Levin with spectators heads in the foreground - but it's race #100. http://www.theroaringseason.com/showthread.php?656-The-Barrie-McBride-Collection-part-4&p=15103&viewfull=1#post15103 If you try Google images with the search phrase "The Roaring Season Lotus" or ...

Month long road event without closed stages ??? Sounds like a Cannonball Run.

From memory, the winged car was a Lotus 69. The entry list in Post #42 shows Ray Wilkinson in a Lotus 69. There's also a good photo of the car in Post #13. I'm pretty sure the Lotus 69 Formula Ford that Martin Lucas now races came from Ray. http://www.theroaringseason.com/showthread.php?579-Bill ...

Re: Show And Tell - What Do You Drive?
Well my garage is full of modern cars compared to what's been posted so far. The toy on the right is a '65 Mustang, 289 V8, C4 auto, all original spec. 2 barrel carb, drum brakes all round and still with a single exhaust underneath. Not a muscle car, just a cruiser. On the left is the Thai girl ...

Re: Photos: January 1987 Wellington Street Race
Was the Wellington Street Race and following Pukekohe events the very last time a Jaguar XJS was raced in international Group A competition anywhere in the world? The FIA homolgation for the XJS expired at the end of '86 so you could also argue that it's last official 'Group A' race was Fuji, Nov ...

2015_MG_Classic_165a.jpg 2015_MG_Classic_218a.jpg 2015_MG_Classic_252a.jpg The info board next to this M3 implied it was the original Cecotto/Brancatelli car from the 1987 WTCC. I think Mark Petch might have bought it after the Wellington round, but does anyone know where it's been for the last 25 ...

Stunning images Ellis, thanks for posting. Whose is the beautiful silver Maserati? I don't think I've seen one in this colour scheme before. No.4 was driven by Ken Warton. Entered by 'Ecurie du Puy' which was a fancy name for a team owned by American John du Puy. (Chassis No. 2521, Cheers to David ...

Re: Programs, movies and memories. (USA version )
Not sure on that one. Bruce Jenner from the South Island who ran a Camaro (ex- Everybody) went to the USA and raced there for years. I think he bought factory drive with Roush before going the Porsche way later. South Island contingent will know better (Jac Mac). PS Bruce was known to be for the ...

The event programme doesn't list the Porsche as entered in the main race but in the preliminary race, the Golden 100, Porsche No.80 was entered by Rentokil Pest Control Ltd for Tim Bailey to drive.
