Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection
The photo is obviously in Sydney and it would be the LEADFOOTS lunch. These lunches were started for Lotus Elite owners / drivers and associated persons. This one would be when Sir John Whitmore came out to race an Elite and Lotus Cortina at Eastern Creek for the Tasman revival Meeting. I recognize ...

Hope that chapter 36 comes along soon! Meanwhile an interesting note on a blog on NZ civil aircraft today. That is the 60th anniversary of the first flight of a Druine Turbulent in New Zealand. The first Turbulent flight took place on 8 December 1959 when ZK-BWE first flew at Palmerston North ...

Re: Geoghegan Family Cortina In New Zealand
The GT was bought from the Geoghegan’s by George Garth and raced very successfully by him. He still owns it. The Lotus Cortina is now in Sydney, owned by Trevor Simpson. I am not sure that either of these two raced in NZ. The other Cortinas would be ones that the brothers raced at Bathurst in the 5 ...

Oh dear. Handed over my ten quid - somewhat reluctantly I might add - for Donington Museum. Having been a regular visitor since it opened in the mid 1970's. I left with a very heavy heart indeed. For years, I have suggested that kiwis and other overseas visitors should make a point of visiting ...

Re: Article: Holiday Snaps - Part 4
Does anyone have some tips for motor museums in Rome? I've googled and all I've found is one for Police cars, which actually might be quite good, but there seems precious little. Only a month to go until I finally get to Schlumpf. Where are you going and when? I am in Europe at the moment. Will be ...

Name drop time - but there's no other way of telling this story. December 1980 - a used car forecourt in Otahuhu and I'm eating a sausage wrapped in a piece of white bread with Neil Bonnett and Donnie Allison. Neil looks across the road to another used car forecourt and says 'what's that green ...
