Sure do remember that place at my school. It was situated just off Te Ra Road, Pt Chevalier near the 'primmers' part of Pt Chev Primary school. It wasn't unusual to hear kids in that place screaming their heads-off. The posters in the waiting-area encouraged kids to eat fruits and that was ...

That 'wet' meeting at Puke was when Jim Boyd raced a front-engined Cooper-Holden which caught fire as he crossed the S/F-line so he slowed it down and pulled onto the grass on the left, then aimed it for the inside fence before jumping-out and the car carried-on to hit the fence. Ardmore in the late-50s when some of the G.P. cars took off from the grid in a preliminary race. Names such as Shelby, Harry Schell, etc
