Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection
ERC mentions drivers not reading the ASR's for a meeting properly. In the Good Old Days (GOD) I ran an Autocross on my farm. I added a rule to the event that at the end of the event all cars entered became the property of R.Wright. At the barbecue afterwards when the results were announced I also ...

Re: Just A Mix Of Pics - Ray Green Collection
I have been offline for a few days, it has been interesting catching up with comments from the festival. Congratulations to Kenny. He deserved the honour and certainly drove very well. Next year Bathurst! I would have thought that there were still plenty of people and manufacturers whom deserve a ...

Congratulations Michael on a really good book written about a real legend of NZ motorsport. Great pictures, loved the school report, bought back many memories of cars and races I had forgotten. Get your copy now, we have sold out and have a waiting list. Congratulations also to Kenny on his input ...

Re: ERC Race Series - Euro Saloons & Sports
I guess this forum is as good a place as any to tell you all about the presentation that was made by Deb Day to Ray and his wife at the conclusion of the prizegiving yesterday afternoon. It celebrated the 20 plus years that they have put into this series and resulted in every person in the room ...

Re: 2015 MG Classic At Manfeild
Who is that in the orange M8E/F? Can we see an entry list / results online somewhere? The McLaren M8E was driven very well by Warwick Mortimer. There was also a McLaren M1B driven by Andrew Robertson. Both cars were fantastic to see and listen to. Unfortunately no match for the modern sports cars ...

What a stunning restoration, congratulations. Especially when you see the "bits" you had to start with. I would thoroughly recomend having a look at Auto Restoration's website and the work they do. A real credit to NZ craftsmen.

Re: HWM Sports
According to the "Levin Motor Racing Circuit 1956 - 1976" book. E L Avery from Hamilton was entered in 1957 in a 5,500cc HWM and was second in the Smith and Walding 6 lap handicap race. It next appears in the 1958 Autumn meeting still with E L Avery and 5,500cc and won race 3 a 6 lap Le Mans start ...

Re: Phil Neill - R I P
Sad to report that Phil Neill passed away on July 17th. He was 92. Phil was a regular competitor in the Auckland region through the middle-fifties and entered the NZ Grand Prix on four occasions. In 1954 he drove the FSS Special to 14th place. The following year he was in an Austin-Healey 100 and ...

Re: Hampton Downs sold to Tony Quinn
Found it in the property section of today's Sunday Star Times. More "Real Estate Speak". Funny, I never knew that "it is just a short drive away from Matamata and the Hobbiton movie set..." I'm sure the North Shore would have been a shorter drive away, given that it takes us 50 minutes to get to HD ...

Good point Grant, the revenue that flooded into the accommodation and hospitality establishments of Tauranga and the Mount over the Xmas/New Year period when their big meetings were on would have been massive, I actually worked at Willow Park for a couple of summers in the early '80s (so after ...

Re: This Weekend 20 Years Ago, what were you doing???
I was there. Some awesome racing and a whole lot of burnouts to say goodbye. I was there too in my Cooper S which I still own. Started the last race ever at Bay Park in pole position, (reverse grid) and by shamelessly jumping the start lead onto the back straight before getting passed by everyone ...

Re: Hampton Downs sold to Tony Quinn
Surely his record at Highlands speaks for itself. There is no other facility in the country that offers the same experience or racing. If that's what we are going to see at Hampton, with the track extenstions completed and other spectator facilities in place, then I can only applaud it. Thanks too ...

A damn sight better than the current farce that they call formula 1. Rosberg should be sitting out the rest of the season.
