Re: RIP Clark Proctor
Clark also raced a Falcon in the BNT V8 series, at the first Australian GT meeting at Highlands Park he competed in a Mosler.
He also supported other drivers, one that comes to mind is Emma Gilmour.

Re: Vale Sir Stirling
The Grand Prix at Ardmore in 1962 was the only time i had the pleasure of seeing the great man race and win. This was the first Grand Prix I attended, I was very upset when he had his terrible accident at Goodwood a few months later.
RIP Sir Stirling.

I see where the very popular Scotsman has just died.
He won our 1972 Heatway Rally driving a Mini, also our 1976 International Rally driving a works Hillman Avenger.
Also he was a good friend of Jim Clark.

A good source of MX5 NA and NB parts in Auckland, I have bought a few bits and pieces for my kit car project from him.
Michael Bullivant phone 021 2119115 ( he advertises some parts on Trade Me)
Another source of MX5 parts has also closed in New Plymouth.

Leo Leonard and Ernie Sprague won in 1969. Brent Hawes ( business partner as well as driver to Leo) was tragically killed at Ruapuna in a sports car race in early 1969.

The later Victor 3.3 litres had the Ventora grille fitted. I do remember in the UK they never had a 3.3 Victor, you could only get the 3.3 litre 6 cylinder in the Ventora. New Zealand was probably the only market in the world where you could get the base model Victor with the 3.3 litre motor, that ...

Brilliant pics Frans. Thanks for sharing. I just love the high-wing era, not only of F1, but also Can-Am and F5000. The photo of Bruce, he was 5th in the 69 South African GP. The McLaren M7B had the extra side tanks, they were in the time when the cars were getting different tried at every race ...

I didn't go to the 2018 event as it didn't seem to promise the type of meeting that I enjoy, and if 2019 is more of the same I won't go to that either. I think the January events at Taupo have taken over from HD and are becoming more festival like. Same travel distance for me so I'm more than happy ...

When Chris was farming, he had a Landcruiser on his farm. A picture of him down on his farm would feature well.If his family have a pho preferably with a dog on the deck. Chris and his wife Tish always drove a Lexus or a Toyota.
