These people were evidently in a theatre production showing at the time. Great period photos of Minis at Dominion Motors, all on the old style rego plates. This yard was located on the corner of Kent Terrace and Elizabeth Street. Dominion Motors also had a building ...

Re: Random Photos Thread

I found these wonderful old photos on a local site that would interest many people - great old cars that are very new looking in these shots. The 2 black and white shots are ones I put up on TRS. Took them at the Nov.1966 Levin meeting.

Maybe Steve Twist can remember when he took the colour one of Coppins at Levin.

Re: Early NZ Tasman drivers

I am putting together some notes on early NZ Tasman Series Drivers. Being on the west side of the ditch, I do not have the same detailed knowledge of NZ as other forum members. I am trying to ascertain if these two drivers are still with us: -Tony Shelly -Rex Flowers Thanks 3 weeks ago my wife and ...

Re: Diecast Collections?

It certainly is. I bought mine from a shop in Newmarket but I can't remember it's name......gone now. But everything works on this model...steering, doors, bonnet and engine bay etc, and it so HEAVY. The detail is exquisite. Also have the Autoart 1/18 versions of the Jaguar C and D types. I think ...

Re: Article: Bathurst 1964

The steepest section of the track is The Cutting, a cruel left hand bend that really puts the cars under a lot of stress. I imagine heading up through The Cutting in Series Production cars in 1964 must have left them gasping. But speed is a relative thing. Check the attitude on the Bill Barnett/Don ...

Re: Old Programmes, movies and memories from the Fifties, Sixties and Seventies.

Well folks it is time for me to sign off as I have run out of old programmes and photos. This has been a fun project bringing back many memories and very interesting inputs. Perhaps some of you can carry on with programmes into the 1970s and beyond. I have taken up too much space and now I am ...

Re: Ross nova one

I posted this photo on The Roaring Season Facebook page, and queried Beecheys decision to retro-fit the steel wheels the car raced on when first built in 1966, and since replaced by 5-spoke wheels. Allan Dick posted that Beechey was actually trying to sell the car in NZ. That would explain why the ...

Re: The Roaring Season Questionnaire: Please Read And Reply

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. The biggest issue in making this a pay subscription site is not the guys who've said they won't pay, but the people who've not said anything at all. Although there has been a good response both on here and through private emails to me from those happy to pay ...

bryan faloon 001 (2).jpg How's this for coincidence? Last week I asked if anyone knew about Bryan Falloon's old Anglia that I saw when it was well advanced in it's restoration. I never had the privilege of meeting Bryan but owned the old #57 Anglia for a fair while. Everyone always spoke very highly of him. Picture 048.jpg The 1972 Heatway Rally started from Wellington on sunday afternoon 23 April. It tiki-toured it's way up the middle of the North Island to Auckland, then across to Gisborne and down the East Coast to finish in Wellington the following saturday.
