Re: Team Cambridge Monaro
It's really starting to look good now John - it's pretty exciting seeing colour going on. Congratulations on the work done so far.

Re: Peter Finch Monaro
Thanks for the Develco info Bondy. Are you aware of the specification or any other details of of the car at all? Were Develco SA based?
I actually didn't write that debut part very well. I meant that the July 1981 Wanneroo meeting seemed to be the debut of the car in Western Australia.

Re: Peter Finch Monaro
I've uncovered some competition history on this Monaro. From what I can gather it pretty much stayed in WA and didn't venture to the east very often, but it was a multiple state champion in WA. I might not be 100% accurate here but... It seems the car debuted at Wanneroo with Peter Finch at Round 7 ...

Peter Finch Monaro
I have been on The Roaring Season Forum in the past - in 2011 if I remember correctly. I was the person looking for information of the Norm Beechey HK Monaro for an article I was writing. I've actually finished this article, and spoken to the fellow that currently owns the remains of the car. Part ...

Re: Holden Monaro
Some time back I was chasing information on Norm Beechey's HK Monaro for an article I was writing. Thanks to the assistance of quite a few people I managed to 'almost' put it to bed, the final chapter of where the car is today is unfinished. A very short edited version of my article was recently ...

Re: Holden Monaro
Thank you for the PDF articles on the Beechey Monaro Mark, really good reading. Here is Beechey in the HK at a non championship meeting at Calder in mid 1969. The combo defeated the Moffat Trans-Am on the day.

Re: Holden Monaro
The 350 pumped out some pretty handy power as well - I'm assuming that is tyre smoke?

Re: Holden Monaro
This is the Weber set up as it is on the Beechey HT now - after the Bowden restoration. I've never seen an image of anything other than with the Webers - so that dual carb set-up is pretty cool and new to me. I'm told the 58mm Webers and the Moon cross-over manifold were fitted to the HK, and ...

Re: Holden Monaro
I do have one more of the mighty HQ at Oran Park.

I believe the first image I posted is around the back of the old Surfers Paradise circuit, which would be the debut of the car. It's clearly John Harvey driving, but the autograph is Bob Jane.

Re: Holden Monaro
Steve, This car always looked brilliant - apart form when it was yellow. But I do prefer the Jane HQ without the 3-piece rear spoiler. I looks so clean and so tough in it's original form.

Re: Holden Monaro
Great photo Steve! One of my all time favorite racing Holdens, particularly in its orignal Improved Production form - just awesome! I got to see it race in this guise as a seven year old at Warwick Farm - and have loved it ever since!

Thanks Steve.
I have sent you an email, but you will find it will not be under my Aron Peters alias. I should have used my real name for the Forum, it would have made things a bit easier. Regards James Meale

Re: Beechey HK Monaro
Hi everyone, Thanks for the assistance and suggestions to help me finalise my Beechey HK Monaro article. Really good progress has been achieved in the last week or so, there are just a couple of loose ends that need to be verified and it should be good to go. What I still desperately need is images ...

Re: Beechey HK Monaro
I'd like to thank everyone for their comments and input. This article has been in the making for almost two years - with only a few elements left to round it out. Images of the car - colour would be awesome - of Norm Beechey racing the car in it's original Warwick Yellow. Norm only raced the car ...

Re: Beechey HK Monaro
Thank you for checking for me John. What I would really love to score for the article is early photographs of the HK, the sort of photgraphs someone would have taken in the paddock at some meeting long ago - or action shots would be appreciated even more. I'm aware of the images on the Autopics and ...

Re: Beechey HK Monaro
Hi John - Thanks for that. I do have several old Racing Car News and Australian Auto Sports magazines from late 1968 through to early 1970 - which cover the car well during it's Beechey days - but there may be some holes in there you could help to fill. I have some information on the car when it was ...
