Further to Jac Mac's research I did a quick search and found a MotorSport article which might explain a few things re slicks and dates ... M & H Drag slicks ( smooth slick surface ) had beed around since early 50's .. while circuit racing tyres Dunlop CR92 had small indentations, birds feet like ...

Didn't Art have a little car yard beside the railway bridge in South Dunedin ...I used to go there at lunch times and chat with him even have a sketch some where of his top suspension arms ,as I has visions of building a U2 / 7 style clubby...and going on to be another Len Terry, Broadly, Chapman ...

I do like the tyre set up on Lin's Lightweight Mini..slicks on Minilites on front and good old Dunlop Aquajet on std S rim on rear.

Yup Feb 65 was the race ..won by Jim Boyd This was the first race meeting I was allowed out to ( Father wanted me to be an All Black and car racing was waste of time and money ) ...I was about 30 mtrs from where the Mirage came to hit pole and if I remember correctly car was bent up in front with ...

Geez,

Baypark were a bit steep with there Admission charges ...a whole $1.oo admission and 50 cents extra for a stand seat...

This weeks Townsville Taxi Race has $75.00 general admission for Sunday only.

Hi Guys , This is a great little tread and I have just been over it again from the start.....great cars and drivers from the era but what about other makes and other drivers ( also rans ) , Mitsibushi , Honda ,VW ect... did anyone else try to give it a go ? I left the shores in 73 and missed out on ...
