Mark, welcome to The Roaring Season! Its great to have you here. I'm really looking forward to your contributions, especially anything from the Alan Hamilton racing days.

By the way, really nice Ghia!

g'day mark from melbourne
son of a german(my old man began working on vw's &
porsches in 1952 in "der fatherland" ,so i guess it's in the blood)
been working on porsches for a tad over 30 years(geez that makes me feel old :) )
spent 22 years working for hamiltons/porsche melbourne from when i was 16,including a stint in the race dept(surrounded by alans collection 906,908,917,paris/dakar prototype ,etc)
working on cars in the early porsche cup days, and the round australia rally in '88 supporting peter glover/bob watson 911
grew up going to alot of motor racing events in the 70's
my favourites were bryan thomsons fasty, jimmy richards mustang, and any of the porsches going 'round at the time
now work for a small independent porsche "shop" restoring and maintaining mostly older models(the newer ones do nothing for me,hence the reason i left porsche melbourne/hamiltons)
my main passion is old volkswagens, anything pre '67 and help run a local vw forum
always have backyard full of 'em
here's a pic of my ghia, one of my current rides

really enjoying the forum the pics and videos are bringing back many fond memories
